Connection is the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued

At It’s Not Wednesday, we offer online therapy for caregivers navigating stress, grief, identity changes, and the emotional weight of supporting someone they love. Whether you are caring for a parent, partner, or family member living with dementia, chronic illness, or changing needs, therapy can offer space to process what you are carrying and reconnect with yourself within it.

FAQ
Who do you work with?

Adults of all genders, anywhere in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, or British Columbia. Caregiving, grief, and burnout don't belong to any one kind of person and neither does therapy. If what you've read on this site sounds like your life, you're who this practice is for.

How much do sessions cost?

Sessions are $160 for 50 minutes. Payment is accepted by credit card and you'll receive a receipt after each session. If cost is a barrier, please still reach out and we can talk about what's possible.

Will my insurance cover this?

Many extended health plans cover psychotherapy. I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I recommend confirming with your provider that your plan covers this designation before we begin. You'll receive a receipt after each session to submit for reimbursement. Direct billing is not currently available.

How does virtual therapy work? Is it as effective as in person?

Sessions happen over secure video through Jane. You'll receive a link before each appointment, and all you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection. Research consistently shows virtual therapy is as effective as in-person care, and many clients find it easier to open up from their own space. No commuting or waiting rooms.

Where do you offer services?

I work with clients across Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. One requirement: you need to be physically located in one of these provinces at the time of our sessions. Travelling within them is no problem.

What happens in a free consultation?

The consultation is a free, 15-minute video call. A low-pressure conversation to see if we're a good fit. You can ask questions, share as much or as little as you'd like, and get a sense of what working together could look like. There's nothing to prepare and no commitment. If it feels right, we'll find a time and go from there.

How often will we meet, and for how long?

Most people begin weekly or every two weeks, and we adjust as things settle. Some move to monthly check-ins, others wrap up when they've gotten what they came for. There's no fixed term and no minimum commitment. Therapy here moves at your pace, and how long it lasts is something we'll keep talking about together.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book a consultation directly, no doctor's referral needed.

What if we're not the right fit?

The relationship is the heart of this work and it matters more than any technique or approach. That's part of what the consultation is for, and it's okay if I'm not your person. If we're not the right match, I'll do my best to help you find someone who is. What matters most is that you get the support you're looking for
