HOW I WORK

An Integrative Approach to Therapy

Therapy at It's Not Wednesday is integrative and evidence-based. I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and existential therapy - woven together thoughtfully based on your needs, your goals, and your lived experience.

Many people arrive carrying similar things: grief, caregiving stress, burnout, questions of identity. But therapy here always remains individualized, honouring the complexity of your particular situation. The approaches below are the threads. What we make with them is yours.

THERAPY APPROACHES

01

ACCEPTANCE + COMMITMENT THERAPY

A practical, evidence-based approach for navigating grief, caregiving, burnout, and uncertainty.

02

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

A practical, skills-based approach for managing intense emotions and chronic stress.

03

INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS

A compassionate, insight-driven approach for inner conflict, guilt, and identity strain.

04

EXISTENTIAL THERAPY

A reflective, meaning - centered approach for uncertainty, loss, and major life transitions.

ALSO WOVEN INTO THIS WORK

Alongside these core approaches, sessions are informed by compassion-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and a polyvagal-informed understanding of the nervous system. These aren't separate services, they're threads that appear where they're useful: softening self-criticism, re-authoring the stories you carry about yourself, and making sense of what your body is doing under stress.

The approach is never the point. You are. These are simply the tools I reach for, guided by what's showing up for you
